Milan is a lovely city. Before we left for Italy, people kept telling us it was best not to spend too much time there, that there wasn't a whole lot to do, and that we would pretty much see the things worth seeing in a day or two. After spending two days there, we both had to disagree.
We saw the magnificent Duomo and climbed up it, discovered aperitivo bars on the outskirts of the city with ovens pumping out fresh pizza all night long, had Negronis overlooking the Duomo, hunted down outlet shops and scored fantastic bargains, had incredible food in restaurants without English menus (I was glad for Jarv's ability to get by in Italian), saw the Castello, spent an entire afternoon down by the canal in the sunshine, made numerous trips to the pop-up Magnum ice cream store for choose-your-own-toppings Magnums, and overall were never short of things to do. In fact, we would happily go back.
