SHANGHAI - HAPPY LEMON

How can I describe Happy Lemon. A bubble tea chain, Happy Lemon has some truly odd-sounding flavours. Aromatic milk tea with adzuki and pudding, for example. Lemon Yakult. Or chocolate with salted cheese (?!). This particular branch is just outside the Nan Jing road tube stop, inside a mini shopping mall. With drinks priced around 11-18 RMB (1-2 GBP), you’ve nothing to lose really by taste testing a few flavours. On this occasion, Jarv slurped down a chocolate with oreo cookies & cream in a matter of seconds. Literally. Right after a wisdom tooth removal (probably not dentist recommended).

Anyway, moral of the story – just wanted to share something small about my city! Happy Lemon is a fun place to stop at for a little something sweet during an afternoon of shopping or general out and about-ing. There are hundreds of chains like this, selling all manner of weird & wonderful treats. Soon I’ll have to share our experiences at a cat cafĂ© and a place called Modern Toilet. Good ol’ China.
