(Light) grey and yellow is one of my favourite colour combinations. Ever. I don't know why it makes me think of neoprene and sportswear, but it's such a cheery and aesthetically pleasing pairing to me. This yellow dress caught my eye the first time I saw it hanging on the rail - bright, loud, shouty. I had my doubts about the chain sides but after slipping it on, there was no turning back. It feels amazing against the body and hugs my waist (a problem I have with many dresses - too baggy in the waist area). So for an afternoon running around the city, I layered my favourite Helmut Lang jumper over it, slipped into these Campbell wedges and off I went.
I don't know about you guys, but the oversized, baggy clothing trend isn't for me. I have an aversion to looking shapeless; the womanly form is to be admired, I've always felt! I mean, I do have small breasts, so there's probably some kinda psychological back story one could conjure up there, something to do with a lifetime of trying to make up for a lack of blessings in the chest area. Either way, I like my dresses tight around the waist and my jeans skinny. So, for me, this outfit is a "brave" step into a different arena of dressing up; loose layering.
