Down a beaten path, shrouded in shade and covered in overgrown plants; a path that you can't quite be sure is meant to be taken at all...you'll find a cobwebbed, tiny little deck. You'll push branches out of the way and duck under overhanging leaves, hoping you don't run into any lurking insects waiting to pounce on your head (or fly into your eye), wondering the entire time if you're even meant to be there. Then you'll see the wooden frame, light bursting through the open space. A viewing deck, unsheltered, with rectangular cut out 'windows' for you to peer through. The sun bears down on you from above and glares in at you from all angles (depending on its position in the sky). For a moment, you're alone in nature, not a single human in sight or earshot.
Not too shabby, Kew Gardens. Not too shabby at all!
