Qi Bao Zhen, an ancient town located in western Shanghai, is a fascinating blend of old and new where vendors sell all manner of enticing and sometimes outrageous food, whacky and unusual gifts, and unique clothing and homeware. Winding narrow streets, a golden temple and romantic curving bridges make up this little town with a history spanning over 1000 years. If you're heading to Shanghai at any point, it's worth a visit and nowhere near as touristy as other traditional areas such as Yu Yuan (Yu Gardens). You'll be unlikely to spot many other non-locals here.
I felt a little bit like a First Lady in this outfit so to modernise it I wore a fishtail braid (an instant bad hair day fix, by the way), a slick of red lipstick and some vampish lace up heels to add an element of youth to an otherwise modest and simple outfit.
Wearing:
Lux Deer two piece
Missguided heels
Fendi bag

Very nice selection of photos. I only recently discovered your blog and added it to my RSS feed. I have to admit I am enjoying your posts (even if I am a guy with no fashion sense). Awesome to see that your photographer was your dad.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark, I appreciate your lovely words!
DeleteYour photography is exceptional it reminds me of the 80's experimentation with colour fused with the ancient Chinese heritage. Simply beautiful!

DeletePicturesque from every perspective :) I would've probably worn the top with leather pants or something, and kicks, but I'm appreciating the throwback to ole world glam. There's something subtly Jackie O about your look xoxo
