In a secluded spot in the hills above Jimbaran sits a hidden gem, Villa Jiwa. A luxurious, open-plan, three storey villa, this is the kind of MTV Cribs place you'll want to take a thousand photos of. With a stunning L-shaped wraparound pool, a gorgeous open rooftop bale, two living rooms and 3 king-sized bedrooms, it's a tough one to beat. I mean, look at those sunset shots!

Some places nearby that are worth checking out:

Jimbaran Beach Seafood. Specifically, Ubung Cafe. We went in the evening; I'm not sure if it's open during the day. An interesting set up with hundreds of tables and chairs set up along a stretch of beach. Here, restaurants sit tightly packed side by side, all serving fresh and cheap seafood dishes, plate after plate coming out in quick succession. You sit on the sand on plastic chairs (sometimes having to move tables as the tide draws nearer). A really fun experience, and we had a serious seafood feast for a very affordable price.

I'm a tad hesitant to include this one, but the food was good. The dishes pictured above are from Cuca, a tapas style place in the heart of Jimbaran. However, our experience was not a fantastic one - for a restaurant that wasn't even close to capacity, we were extremely disappointed to have to wait an HOUR for any morsel of food to reach our table. Bear in mind this is a tapas style restaurant with dishes constantly being pumped out of the kitchen. So...make of that what you will (and probably don't go there starving, or risk ending up hangry like I did).

Karma Beach Club. Right next to Finn's, where we'd also spent an afternoon on a previous trip, you'll enjoy some loungers to yourself for a few hours with food and drinks at your beck and call. I must say though, it is bizarre that they don't provide water for free and the only water available for purchase is in tiny bottles, no fresh jugs or large bottles to quench your thirst on a hot day. They also seem to find it quite difficult to provide proper shade from the sun at certain times of the day.

All the hot Uluwatu resorts and restaurants are a very reasonable 20 - 30 minute drive away, so there are a ton of other places I could recommend. Take a look here if you're interested.
