I will always return to Florence. As long as I am physically able, I will come back to gorge on pasta generously loaded with chunks of truffle, gelato that is so thick and creamy you can hold the cup upside down, the crispiest, freshest panini I have ever bitten into. I will drink Aperol by the Arno and stroll aimlessly through the cobbled, narrow streets, breathing a sigh of relief when I escape the sun's intensity and find a shaded street.
Lunch at one of our tried & tested favourites, 4 Leoni.

I will wander through Boboli and end up at the top of the hill, overlooking the beautiful city; I will return to all my favourite gelato shops, especially 'that witchy one' (La Strega Nocciola) with the incredibly rich flavours. I'll marvel at the Duomo every single time, stopping to snap the same photo I've snapped countless times before. Sometimes I might even climb it.

The best panino you will ever eat at All'Antico Vinaio.

I will stop for coffee numerous times throughout the day - sometimes sitting down to relax for a few moments, sometimes 'shotting' it, standing up at the bar. I will smile at the lilting, musical language, wishing I could speak it too and practicing the few phrases I know, trying to be mistaken for a local. I will probably pick something up from Missoni, even if it's just another bath towel. I will definitely overeat, tire my feet out and sweat buckets, but I will love every minute of it, because Florence to me is magical, Florence is beautiful and charming and peaceful and it holds a special place in my memories. I will never tire of it.
