PARK HYATT ABU DHABI
PARK HYATT ABU DHABI
A luxury seaside resort in 40 degree heat.

From the Park Hyatt Dubai, we were driven one and a half hours to its sister property, the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi. Walking into the lobby, my immediate impression was one of space. Incredible high ceilings, calm pools of water, sweeping staircases and large, open spaces. The epitome of luxury. Our terrace suite was no less impressive. The resort sits on a stretch of environmentally protected white sand beach - lucky guests may even catch sight of a dolphin or two, or baby turtles making their way to the ocean. The ocean...so blue there, so pale and warm and pleasant. Had it not been for the 38 degree heat, I could have spent hours floating in the salt water.

SHEIKH ZAYED MOSQUE
SHEIKH ZAYED MOSQUE
One of the world's largest mosques, with a capacity for 40,000 worshippers.

A few hours before our flight home, we decided we couldn't leave without first visiting the famed Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. A striking architectural work of art costing almost £500 million to build, it is well worth staying to hear the beautifully moving call to prayer. Next time I definitely want to revisit in the day time, too.
