CATHAY PACIFIC LOUNGE

We arrived at Heathrow Terminal 3 a couple of hours before our flight, not even a week after the new Cathay Pacific lounge had opened. Being One World Emerald members means that we can both access the lounge whenever we visit the airport and fly any partner airline, so although we were only hopping on a short BA flight, we were entitled to lounge access nonetheless. Jarv had been chomping at the bit to see what it was like and how it measured up to HK's The Pier.
It did not disappoint. The colours caught my eye first - just like the HK Cathay lounge, the warm gold tones, rich green furniture accents, wood panelled walls and rustic wooden tables exude an air of warm, understated luxury.
We made a beeline for the restaurant.
We made a beeline for the restaurant.

After dining on wonton noodles, spicy Sichuan chicken, tuna tataki salad and Cantonese style beef fillet (all delicious), we veered towards the giant, plump sofa chairs beckoning from the corner, situated perfectly next to the magazine rack with an excellent view of the tarmac where we could plane spot, and within mere steps of the help-yourself bar.

Both First and Business class passengers have access to showers, should you find yourself on a layover and wanting to freshen up.

BUSINESS CLASS
HEATHROW, TERMINAL 3

We took the chance to have a quick peek at the adjoining Business class lounge - it is unlikely we will ever see it as empty as this again but it was the perfect opportunity to capture the space. It comes equipped with a noodle bar, dishing out HK favourites such as Dan Dan noodles in a spicy peanut broth. There's no restaurant service here, but there is a good sized bar and plenty of fantastic self-serve buffet options, as well as a business area and plenty of plush seating in which to unwind.
All in all, this has got to be my new favourite LHR lounge. I'm very much looking forward to the next time we fly...the fun really does begin at the airport!
That lounge looks AMAZING! I often travel through Heathrow but never been :)
ReplyDeleteIt's worth going a little bit early - just for the food alone!
DeleteI've never had a long layover in Heathrow (thank goodness!) but next time I do I'll have to check this out!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great place to while away an hour or two!
DeleteOh this looks amazing! I've only been in the BA lounge in terminal 5 and really enjoyed that - but this is something else!!

This is the nicest lounge I've seen in all of Heathrow so far, in my humble opinion! Cathay always exceeds expectations ;)
DeleteThis lounge sounds like heaven! I would love to go there before my flight!
