A flimsy, lightweight spaghetti strap dress - not the first item I'd reach for when it's bleak outside. Take that one dress, add a leather jacket, a cashmere coat on top, a faux fur scarf and some sock booties (my new favourite type of ankle boot! So comfy to slip on) and you're good to go. It's all about layering, especially in London. You freeze your ass off the entire walk to the tube then almost immediately start sweating as you board the sauna that is the central line. This is where you subtract every layer but the dress and cue furtive glances from pretty much everyone else...because no-one else seems to be sweating in the middle of winter. Just me, then. My body temperature adjusts virtually instantaneously to the temperature around me - I think I might be a reptile.
